Osh Street Market
Limited edition run of 8 copies.
Comes with a certificate of authenticity.
Printed on Giclée Hahnemühle Photo Rug paper.
When walking around the market in Osh, the largest city of southern Kyrgyzstan in June 2019, I spotted this charming stall in front of the bazaar. I loved how the shadows of a birch tree played on the fragrant seeds. The owner, a lovely older lady with a flowery scarf around her grey hair, was a bit surprised with my interest, but didn’t mind me bending around her spices to find the best angle. I bought some nigella seeds, which I always sprinkle on top of my homemade sourdough bread, and a mixture of cumin, caraway and coriander seeds to recreate plov — a traditional Central Asian rice-based dish.
All prints are custom made, so I can’t accept returns.
